ChronoMask es una App para ayudar a controlar el tiempo de vida útil de tu mascarilla.

Su principal objetivo es fomentar el uso correcto de la mascarilla como método complementario de protección. Una duda muy frecuente es saber el tiempo máximo de uso de una mascarilla. Esta herramienta te ayuda a calcularlo y avisa cuando debes cambiar de mascarilla.

Los contenidos de la app cuenta con el apoyo del COIBA (Colegio Oficial de Enfermería de Baleares).

La función principal de la aplicación es activar un reloj con cuenta atrás ?. Se selecciona un tipo de mascarilla homologada, de forma automática aparecerá una cuenta atrás para cronometrar el tiempo que tiene de validez la misma. Los tiempos que aparecen por defecto son el máximo permitido por el tipo de mascarilla y según fuentes oficiales que se pueden consultar en el apartado de bibliografía.

Se podrá pausar el cronómetro durante los periodos de no uso de la mascarilla. Y se recibirá una notificación cuando la mascarilla esté apunto de caducar y también cuando sea necesario realizar el cambio.

ChronoMask no es una App de salud ni proporciona asesoramiento médico.

Está demostrado que un uso incorrecto y excesivo de tiempo (por encima del que establece el fabricante) de una misma mascarilla puede provocar otros problemas añadidos de salud.

La información está extraída de datos publicados por diferentes fuentes oficiales como la OMS (Organización Mundial de la Salud), el Ministerio de Sanidad, Consumo y Bienestar Social de España o la Sociedad Española de Neumología y Cirugía Torácica (SEPAR), entre otros.

Todos los contenidos han sido recopilados y supervisados por Juana María Sánchez, enfermera colegiada y miembro del departamento de Neumología del Hospital Son Llátzer de Palma de Mallorca. Y también cuenta con el apoyo del COIBA.

La aplicación está diseñada para no invadir la privacidad del usuario, la descarga no conlleva el almacenamiento de ningún dato del usuario.

La aplicación sigue funcionando sin conexión a Internet.

El tiempo asignado a cada mascarilla es el máximo que está permitido por tipo de mascarilla. Se debe usar el recomendado por el fabricante. Se puede cambiar el tiempo en el apartado de ajustes.

Recomendamos usar siempre mascarillas homologadas y que tengan la certificación correspondiente al país de procedencia, para garantizar su efectividad.

Qué incluye ChronoMask

Elige mascarilla: selector del tipo de mascarilla.
Cronómetro con cuenta atrás: una vez elegida la mascarilla aparece el cronómetro. Posibilidad de poner en pausa, eliminar mascarilla y/o cambiar el tiempo de la cuenta atrás en ajustes.
Consejos y ficha técnica de los tipos de mascarillas: se explicará con mayor detalle las características de cada tipo de mascarilla y su nivel de eficacia de protección frente a microorganismos. Además se incluye un decálogo de cómo debemos usar las mascarillas.
FAQ: relación de preguntas y respuestas más comunes relacionados con el uso de mascarillas.
Idiomas: inglés y castellano.
Créditos y bibliografía.
Ajustes: se permite cambio de idioma y cambio de tiempo en los diferentes tipos de mascarillas.

Juana María Sánchez: Co-ideóloga de la aplicación. Supervisora de los contenidos. Enfermera colegiada por el COIBA. Trabaja en el departamento de Neumología del Hospital Son Llátzer de Mallorca. Miembro de SEPAR desde 2010.

Its main purpose is to encourage the general population and non-healthcare professionals to wear face masks as an additional protective method, while simultaneously complying with all other health measures. It also seeks to provide citizens with general information and to answer FAQs about face masks and their use.

A face mask constitutes a barrier which helps to minimise the direct transmission of infectious agents.

The main function of the app is to activate a countdown timer. Once the user selects the type of standardised face mask, a countdown timer will automatically appear that displays the time for which the mask can continue to be worn. The timer can be paused during the periods in which the face mask is not being worn.

ChronoMask is not a health app, and neither does it provide medical advice.

We recommend adhering to the times established by the manufacturers. The times can be changed in the app’s settings section. The times provided are for non-continuous use. In any case, continuous wearing for more than 4-8 hours (depending on the type of face mask) is not recommended.

It has been proven that wearing the face mask incorrectly and wearing the same mask for longer than the maximum time established by the manufacturer can cause added health problems.

The information is taken from data published by various entities, including the World Health Organization (WHO), the Spanish Ministry of Health, Consumer Affairs and Social Welfare and the Spanish Society of Pulmonology and Thoracic Surgery (SEPAR), amongst others. The “Credits and Bibliography” section lists the sources that we have consulted, as well as additional information that supplements the information that appears in the app. ChronoMask has compiled the information, seeking to bring together as much information as possible about face masks and their use.

The project has the support of COIBA (Official College of Nursing of the Balearic Islands).

Note:

– The application is designed in such a way as to not breach the privacy of the user. As such, when the user downloads the app, none of his/her details will be stored.
– The app simply needs their permission in order to send them notifications.
– The images of masks are indicative. Depending on the manufacturer, the face masks may have varying appearances, colours or shapes.
– The time assigned to each face mask is indicative. Wear for the amount of time recommended by the manufacturer. You can adjust the time in the settings section.
– Remember to always wear face masks that are standardised and certified by their country of origin in order to guarantee their effectiveness against possible infections.
– Face masks are only a supplementary protective measure. It is crucial that you continue to comply with the other protective measures recommended by the Spanish Ministry of Health.

Juana María Sánchez: Co-creator of the application. App content supervisor. Registered nurse of the Official College of Nursing of the Balearic Islands, with more than 25 years’ experience. She has been a member of the Spanish Society of Pulmonology and Thoracic Surgery (SEPAR) since 2010.

Tomeu Fiol: Co-creator of the application. App design and functionality supervisor. Digital marketing expert who has worked on various non health-related projects. He is currently the CMO of Hotelinking, a company dedicated to the tourism industry.

Carlos Eduardo Fanti: App programmer and developer. He is a mechatronic engineer. He has worked on various projects and technological applications related to the tourism sector. He currently works as a Full Stack Developer at Hotelinking.
